Summer Chamber Music & Ensemble Program
We are thrilled to present our annual Summer Chamber Music & Ensemble Program! This intensive week is designed to take students beyond solo repertoire and into the collaborative world of chamber music. Serving as a bridge between solo practice and orchestral playing, the program gives students the chance to lead like a soloist while connecting deeply with their peers.
Program Highlights
- Duration: One week (Mid-Summer)
- Daily Sessions: Morning schedule
- Finale Concert: Hosted at PianoForte Chicago at the conclusion of the week
- Instruction: Small group coaching by professional musicians
- After-Care/Pick-Up: Flexible pick-up windows and extended care available upon request; contact us to discuss arrangements
- Tuition: $650 per student
Registration & Priority Placement
Registration opens annually in the spring. To help us finalize ensemble groupings and secure our faculty, we encourage early registration:
- Priority Discount: Register by the Early Bird deadline to receive a $25 fee waiver and guaranteed ensemble placement.
- Standard Registration: Registrations submitted after the priority deadline remain eligible for select discounts, subject to instrument availability.
- Final Deadline: Late spring / early summer (check annual announcement for specific dates)
Note: Ensemble placement is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Special Opportunities
- Sibling & Referral Discounts: We offer a $25 waiver for siblings or for referring a friend who joins the program. (Discounts cannot be combined; the highest applicable waiver will be applied.)
- Internship Program: A limited number of internship positions are available each summer for older, advanced students. Please contact the studio directly to apply.
The Power of Chamber Music
- Peer Connection: Transition from solitary practice to social music-making with friends.
- Elevated Responsibility: Every player is a leader with a soloist’s accountability.
- Refined Listening: Small groups sharpen communication and listening skills in ways solo work cannot.
Audition & Placement
To ensure high-level ensemble pairing, all applicants must submit a video recording of one piece that represents their current level. The video requirement is waived for:
- Students with orchestral experience.
- Previous music competition winners.
- Students with a direct recommendation from their private teacher.
